PH’s 'Johor Untuk Semua' Manifesto Shaped By People’s Needs, Economic Realities - Teo
JOHOR BAHRU, July 3 (Bernama) -- The Pakatan Harapan (PH) manifesto ‘Johor Untuk Semua’ (Johor For All), launched today for the 16th Johor state election, is not just empty rhetoric, but is shaped by the people's needs and the state's economic realities, said Johor DAP chairman Teo Nie Ching.
Teo expressed confidence that all the initiatives outlined in the manifesto can be delivered, provided there is strong support and close cooperation from the federal government.
"I think this is a very balanced manifesto. It looks after everyone, from the youth and mothers right down to the children," she told Bernama after the launch.
The Deputy Communications Minister highlighted that key priorities include education issues and efforts to reduce waiting times at the Johor-Singapore border crossings by 50 per cent.
"On the border front, I believe that with good coordination with the Home Ministry, this is achievable," she said.
Teo also expressed confidence that Selangor's experience in implementing a health scheme similar to the one proposed in the manifesto could serve as a useful reference for Johor.
"I believe Selangor's success in running such a scheme can reassure the people of Johor, the 'Bangsa Johor', that the manifesto we launched today is truly doable," she said.
Earlier, PH launched the "Johor Untuk Semua" manifesto as the coalition's pitch to voters for the 16th Johor state election.
It features 10 key offers, including the Johor Health Scheme, deposit assistance for first-time homebuyers, a RM500 million fund to empower youth development and measures to strengthen the education sector.
The Johor state election will be held on July 11, with early voting on July 7.
