KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 17 (Bernama) -- Palestinians are now facing two forms of attacks - one by the army and the other by settlers sent by the Zionist Israeli authorities, said Palestine’s Director-General of Documentation and Publishing, Colonisation and Wall Resistance Commission, Ameer Dawood.

Speaking live on Bernama TV's Bernama World programme from Palestine via video call recently, he said Israeli forces were attacking the villages, enforcing curfews, and preventing the Palestinian people from entering or leaving their villages to go to work, hospitals or educational institutions.

“And in another phase, they are sending the settlers, the colonial settlers, to carry out attacks.”

These attacks, he said, did not only involve shooting at Palestinian homes or setting fire to their properties.

“These attacks sometimes prohibit the Palestinian people from reaching the water resources or from reaching their agricultural lands.

“What they are trying to do is to force a new environment on the Palestinian people … to force them to leave their land. This is their major plan,” he said when speaking on the topic ‘Palestine Beyond The Headlines: Israeli Settler Terrorism and Settlement Expansion’.

Last month, the commission documented more than 2,200 attacks, including 1,458 attacks by the Israeli occupation forces.

According to Dawood, in the last three years (since Oct 7, 2023), Palestine has witnessed an unprecedented situation led by the settlers who are forcing new realities on the ground, such as building outposts.

“We have been witnessing the establishment of more than 200 outposts in the Palestinian geography.

“They have one goal - to determine what we call the two-state solution and dismantle this solution to prevent the Palestinian people from getting their dream of building a Palestinian state in the future,” Dawood added.
