US State Department Announces Release Of Commemorative Passport To Celebrate America 250
WASHINGTON, July 3 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- The United States (US) Department of State has announced the release of a commemorative passport to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the country’s independence, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
“The Department of State is releasing a commemorative passport to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. This special passport features striking custom artwork and enhanced imagery that honours our nation’s founding while maintaining all the advanced security features that make the US passport the gold standard for travel and identity documents,” the Department of State said in a statement.
Last week, US President Donald Trump unveiled the design of a new American passport.
The image Trump presented features his official portrait, framed by the text of the US Declaration of Independence, signed in 1776, and elements of the American flag.
The gold embossing is complemented by the head of state's personal signature.
Another spread features an engraving based on the famous painting "Declaration of Independence," with the inscription "United States of America 250" at the bottom.
In April, the US State Department announced a series of limited-edition passports with a special design, including an official portrait of Trump, to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence.
