KUALA TERENGGANU, Oct 17 (Bernama) -- Police issued 447 summonses and seized 125 motorcycles during ‘Ops Samseng Jalanan 2026’, a two-day operation conducted at two locations in Kuala Terengganu.
Kuala Terengganu police chief ACP Azli Mohd Noor said the action followed inspections on motorcycles believed to have been involved in the Gen-Y Event 2026 celebrations.
He said the offences detected included missing side mirrors, failure to display a valid motor vehicle licence, expired motor vehicle licences, non-compliant number plates and modified motorcycle exhausts.
“The operation was conducted on Oct 16 and 17 following public complaints about a group of youths riding motorcycles dangerously and causing noise in the Kampung Padang Midin residential area and Kuala Terengganu city centre.
“A total of 125 motorcycles were seized for various offences under Section 64 of the Road Transport Act 1987. The operation was carried out from midnight until the early hours of the morning,” he said in a statement today.
Police advised the public to comply with traffic laws and refrain from dangerous riding, which poses a risk to themselves and other road users.
