MACHANG, Oct 17 (Bernama) -- The remains of the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) officer who was allegedly killed by her husband in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, underwent a post-mortem this morning before being taken back to Tumpat for burial.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the remains were being transported by road and were expected to arrive in Tumpat tonight.
He said the suspect had recently been released from prison after serving a sentence for a drug-related offence.
“The victim leaves behind two children, aged five and six, who are now being cared for by her older sister,” he told a press conference after attending the launch ceremony for the 2026 Home Ministry’s Kampung Angkat MADANI and Sekolah Angkat MADANI initiatives here today.
Last Thursday, an AKPS officer was found dead in an incident at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) staff quarters, believed to have been killed by her husband.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad reportedly said that police received information about the incident at 8.30 pm that day.
Meanwhile, Kampung Gosong here has received an allocation of RM500,000 to upgrade public facilities and residents’ homes under the ministry’s Kampung Angkat MADANI (MADANI Adopted Village) initiative.
Saifuddin Nasution said the facilities being upgraded included the mosque, surau, toilets, ablution areas and cemetery, in addition to repair works on 14 residents’ houses.
He said the house repair works were carried out in collaboration with the Akademi Binaan Malaysia (ABM), and involved 10 individuals under the supervision of the Prisons Department as well as members of the People’s Volunteer Corps (RELA).
In a related development, Sekolah Kebangsaan Jambul Lawar received an allocation of RM100,000 under the Sekolah Angkat MADANI (MADANI Adopted School) initiative to upgrade school facilities, including the ceiling, toilets, water supply, computer laboratory and guard post.
He said the school had also been equipped with digital learning facilities through the installation of smart boards to enhance pupils’ interaction during teaching and learning sessions.
In addition, 82 villagers and 54 students received zakat assistance distributed through the corporate zakat wakalah scheme of PBLT Sdn Bhd.
