KUALA NERUS, Oct 17 (Bernama) -- Young Integrity Cadets should serve as junior ambassadors to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in their communities by raising awareness about the dangers of corruption and spreading the message of integrity.
MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention) Datuk Azmi Kamaruzaman said they should also remain vigilant to acts of corruption and abuse of power in their respective surroundings.
He said true integrity is not merely about doing the right thing when being watched, but choosing to do the right thing even when no one is looking.
“In life, you may face various pressures and temptations. That is when moral courage is needed to say no to corruption, no to cheating and no to abuse of power,” he said.
He said this when officiating the closing ceremony of the Anti-Corruption Student Volunteer Corps Cadet (KOR SUAR) training and presentation of the Young Integrity Cadet certificates for Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) Cohort 4/2026 at Dewan Al-Muktafi Billah Shah in UniSZA here today.
Azmi said the knowledge and experience gained during the training should serve as a guide in shaping individuals who are not only successful but also trustworthy and reliable.
He said instilling values of integrity among the younger generation was crucial in nurturing a principled society that rejects all forms of corruption.
A total of 39 cadets completed the Kor SUAR training, which is an initiative by MACC designed to cultivate anti-corruption awareness and develop university students who possess integrity, discipline and moral courage.
Since its introduction in 2023, a total of 138 cadets fro UniSZA have successfully completed the training.
