The MFL said in a statement today that it had held an online meeting to discuss the implementation of measures and the latest Air Pollutant Index (API) reading in relatiom to matches in the league.

The meeting was attended by MFL chief executive officer (CEO) Mohd Shazli Shaik Mohd, MFL chief operating officer Harris Taufieq Zafri, MFL unit heads, Amateur Football League (AFL) representative, M-League club CEOs and representatives of the clubs concerned.

The discussion focused on the current haze situation and its potential impact on matches should API readings deteriorate across the states.

It said the briefing by Mohd Shazli was aimed at ensuring that all clubs remain vigilant to developments in the haze situation and monitor API readings in their respective areas, particularly in the lead-up to match days.

“Emphasis was also placed on the safety and health of everyone involved, including players, team officials, match personnel and supporters, with measures highlighted including the implementation of ‘cooling breaks’, the use of face masks and the provision of appropriate medical facilities and logistics at match venues,” it added.
