KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 (Bernama) -- Tunku Temenggong Kedah Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz Almarhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah has been appointed as Patron of Aurelius Hospital Alor Setar, Kedah.

In a statement today, the hospital said the appointment reflected its continued efforts to strengthen healthcare access, awareness and community wellbeing in Kedah and the surrounding region.

The appointment was marked by an official visit by Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz to the hospital, where she was briefed on its development, specialist healthcare services and facilities, as well as ongoing initiatives to support the health and wellbeing of the local community.

During the visit, she also engaged with the hospital’s management team and staff and was also briefed on efforts to provide specialist healthcare services while addressing the needs of the community.

Aurelius Healthcare Group Managing Director and Chairman Datuk Amir Firdaus Abdullah said the hospital was deeply honoured to welcome Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz as its Patron.

“It is a great honour for Aurelius Hospital Alor Setar to welcome Tunku Temenggong Kedah as our Patron. Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz's patronage is deeply meaningful to our hospital and our people.

“With Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz's patronage, we look forward to strengthening our role within the community and contributing towards greater healthcare access, awareness and wellbeing for the people of Kedah,” he said.

He said the appointment would support the hospital’s focus on serving the community and promoting its “Stronger Communities, Healthier Lives” commitment.

The hospital said its approach to healthcare extends beyond medical treatment to include education, prevention, early detection and community engagement.

The commitment, it said, was reflected in its community health programmes, educational activities, health screenings and other initiatives aimed at bringing healthcare knowledge and support closer to the public.

The hospital is also expanding its services and strengthening community outreach as part of efforts to reinforce its role as a healthcare provider in the northern region.
