KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30 (Bernama) -- A special meeting with 25 Negeri Sembilan state assemblymen tonight did not discuss yesterday’s audience between Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim and Negeri Sembilan Yang Dipertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, said state UMNO chief Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias.
He said the discussion focused more on efforts to ensure that all elected representatives from the government bloc remained committed to carrying out their responsibilities in their constituencies, as well as strengthening the party.
He said Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had urged the assemblymen not to be affected by current developments and to continue prioritising service to the people following the political situation in the state.
“We conveyed a narrative and a guideline for the 25 assemblymen to carry out their duties in their constituencies, strengthen the party and also fulfil their responsibilities as elected representatives,” he told reporters after the meeting at Menara Dato Onn here.
He said the meeting was also attended by UMNO secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki and BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir.
