KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 19 (Bernama) -- A line-up of local indie acts will be among the main attractions at ‘Ultra Kalcer Malaysia 2026’, a two-day music festival at KL Festival Park here on Nov 7 and 8, which brings together 19 Malaysian and Indonesian artistes.
Representing Malaysia are Okirama, Dukes, The Alif, Belia Benci Club, Citykops and Rangkaian Fugo. They will share the stage with Indonesian artistes including Kris Dayanti, Naykilla, Barasuara, Biru Baru, Pamungkas, Sal Priadi, Danilla, Lomba Sihir, Rumah Sakit, Hindia and Romantic Echoes.
Nabila Huda Suhaimi, spokesman for the event organiser Neptunes Presents, said the inclusion of local artistes in the festival was important in providing Malaysian musicians with opportunities to share the stage with established names from Indonesia, while expanding their reach among regional audiences.
She said the festival also reflects the close ties between the fan communities and music industries of both countries.
“All the artistes are preparing to deliver their best performance, while the setlists remain under wraps until the festival,” she said at a press conference on Ultra Kalcer Malaysia 2026, here, recently.
Also present were Neptunes Presents chief executive officer Mohd Izwan Johar, chief operating officer Fizzany Adnan and project director Shamil Yusof.
On the choice of venue, Nabila Huda said KL Festival Park was selected for its strategic location and its capacity to accommodate more than 20,000 concertgoers at a time.
She said tickets, priced affordably for music fans, went on sale on Sept 4 via www.bbo.events.com.
Ultra Kalcer Malaysia 2026 is part of Neptunes Presents’ ongoing efforts to organise music events featuring artistes from Malaysia and Indonesia.
Neptunes Presents, together with its event partners, had also organised the ‘Nyalafest Music Festival’ at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil here on Nov 30, 2024, featuring eight artistes from both countries.
