SINGAPORE, Sept 18 (Bernama) -- Singapore Airlines (SIA) has been named the World’s Best Airline at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards, clinching the title for the sixth time.
In a statement on Friday, Skytrax said last year’s winner, Qatar Airways, secured second place, followed by Cathay Pacific Airways in third, Japan’s ANA All Nippon Airways in fourth and Turkish Airlines in fifth, among more than 300 airlines.
Malaysia Airlines won the Best Airline Staff Service in Asia award and ranked third in the World’s Best Cabin Crew category.
AirAsia retained its World’s Best Low-Cost Airline title, an accolade it has won every year since 2010.
Skytrax Chief Executive Officer Edward Plaisted said SIA also won the World’s Best Economy Class and World’s Best Economy Class Onboard Catering awards.
“These successes should be a source of great pride and motivation for Singapore Airlines management and staff, made even more special by the fact that this is the sixth occasion in the awards history that Singapore Airlines has won this highest accolade,” he added.
Meanwhile, SIA chief executive officer Goh Choon Phong said the award was a testament to the dedication and professionalism of its staff, who continually strive to uphold the airline’s standards of service and operational excellence.
“We are grateful to our customers for their trust and support, and we are committed to delivering an exceptional, world-class travel experience every time they fly with us," he said.
