SHAH ALAM, Sept 16 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) continues to strengthen the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) landscape through the organisation of the 14th Polytechnic and Community College Digital Learning Innovation Awards (eDOLA XIV) 2026, which ended last night.
MOHE secretary-general Datuk Dr Aminuddin Hassim said the prestigious 14th edition of the programme was themed “Human Vision, Agentic Action” to showcase the integration of education goals centred on human values and the capabilities of modern artificial intelligence (AI).
“The initiatives and commitment of key strategic partner Amazon Web Services (AWS) demonstrate the industry’s confidence in the potential of Polytechnics and Community Colleges (POLYCC) and serve as a primary catalyst in strengthening a modern technology-based education ecosystem
“As such, drawing inspiration from that spirit of cooperation, I would like to call on and invite more industry partners, particularly strategic partners such as PGR GeoSolution, Penang Tech Center and other leading companies, to continue working hand in hand with us,” he said.
He said this in his closing speech at the awards ceremony, which was also attended by POLYCC director-general Dr Shamsuri Abdullah, at the Selangor International Trade Centre (SITC) here yesterday.
He said the strategic approach fully aligned with the ministry’s direction of positioning POLYCC institutions as the main pioneers of TVET education in the country.
Aminuddin said the true measure of educational innovation now lie s iin the extent to which it helps students understand subjects better and whether it can be shared with other educators.
He said that this year’s award ceremony also highlighted the outstanding achievements of students through the POLYCC Agentic AI League competition, which tested the younger generation’s ability to develop intelligent systems.
He added that the ministry stressed that technology does not always determine the purpose of education because humans are still needed to define the values and desired outcomes.
“For me, the phrase Human Vision means that we must start with the question of education first, not with technological tools.
“Systems that are becoming increasingly intelligent can help speed up tasks and expand capabilities, but the professional judgement of lecturers, academic integrity, security, privacy and human values cannot be conpletely left to machines,” he said.
At the same event, Aminuddin also launched a blockchain-based repository management and academic verification system known as the POLYCC Blockchain Technology Authentication System for Academic Integrity (SATRIA).
The innovation acts as a trust infrastructure that transparently connects micro-learning experiences to safeguard graduates’ academic records.
Politeknik Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin took home RM120,000 and a trophy after being crowned the overall champion of eDOLA 2026.
The ceremony also saw the presentation of POLYCC–Palestine Digital Micro Credential certificates to 30 Palestinian students through an international collaboration.
