GEORGE TOWN, Sept 4 (Bernama) -- Parts of the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway and Gat Lebuh Cecil here will be closed from Monday (Sept 7) to Thursday (Sept 10) to facilitate construction works for the Mutiara Line Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, involving utility relocation works.
Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn (MRT Corp) said the road closure would be implemented from 10 pm on Monday until 5 am on Thursday, and advised road users to exercise caution when passing through the areas.
“The closure will involve the entry slip road to Gat Lebuh Cecil from the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway, near SMT System Metal Technology Sdn Bhd.
“As an alternative, motorists can use Gat Lebuh Macallum to head towards Jalan C.Y. Choy and then proceed to Lebuh Cecil. However, other routes will remain open to traffic,” MRT Corp said in a statement today.
Road signs and traffic cones will be placed at the site, while flagmen will be deployed to help manage traffic flow and ensure the safety of road users.
