KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has paid tribute to street sweeper M. Kavita, whose sacrifices over more than 12 years working in all weather to raise her five children touched his heart.
In a Facebook post today, Anwar said Kavita’s years of hard work and sacrifices had paid off, with all five of her children succeeding in their respective fields.
“May Kavita and all street sweepers and cleaning workers continue to be blessed with strength, good health and the respect they deserve.
“Thank you for your dedication and hard work in keeping our surroundings clean and safeguarding our well-being,” he said.
Yesterday, Kavita’s contribution was also recognised with a Special Award at SWCorp’s Cleaning Workers’ Day Appreciation ceremony.
The story about Kavita, an SWM Environment employee in Seremban, went viral on social media when her four daughters surprised her while she was at work to celebrate her 50th birthday last month.
It was even more touching when they showed up wearing their respective job uniforms, including pilot, cabin crew, and staff nurse, causing Kavita to cry with joy at the surprise
