KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 16 (Bernama) -- Police arrested five men linked to two separate criminal cases involving threats and injuring their victims around the capital yesterday.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Mohd Marsus said in the first case, three men, 20 to 26, were arrested on suspicions of hitting and threatening a woman in a vacant lot next to the OUG community hall along Jalan Awan Besar here after the victim, 38 lodged a report at 2.38 pm alleging that she was scolded with insults, hit at her head and threatened while in the area.
“Checks revealed that all suspects have prior criminal records,” he said in a statement today, adding that one suspect was remanded for three days starting today till Aug 18, while the remaining two were remanded for a day and that the case is being investigated under Section 506 and 323 of the Penal Code.
In the second case, two men in their early 30s were arrested around Razak City Residences here yesterday on suspicions of severely injuring a man with weapons on April 9.
Cheras district police chief ACP Mohd Rosdi Daud said the victim, 29, was found unconscious near a temple in Salak South and investigations revealed that the attack was caused by an argument between the two parties.
“Checks revealed that one suspect is wanted for an offence under Section 354 of the Penal Code, while the second suspect has two prior drug offences,” he said in a statement today, adding that both suspects have been remanded for a day to assist investigations under Section 326 of the Penal Code.
