MOSCOW, August 16 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- One person was killed and four were injured in a shooting at a park in Lexington, Kentucky, the state's governor, Andy Beshear, said, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
"About a mile and a half from here, we’ve had a shooting actually since we started this dinner. We have five people that I think received injuries and probably have one deceased," the governor said at a Kentucky Democratic Party dinner at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Lexington, as quoted by Fox56.
The LEX18 broadcaster reported citing Lexington Police Chief Lawrence Weathers that five people had been wounded in the shooting, including two children aged four and 14. One of the victims later died in the hospital.
Police added that there was currently no threat to residents, but did not specify whether the suspect has been captured.
