PUTRAJAYA, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- The Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia (AKM) has implemented more than 2,000 programmes under the ‘Gelombang Aku Kasih Malaysia’ initiative since last year to foster love for the country and strengthen patriotism among the people.
Its director-general Datuk Dr Roslan Hussin said the programmes had received an encouraging response from various segments of society, including communities, civil servants and the corporate sector.
“Alhamdulillah, the response from the people has been very encouraging, with many getting directly involved, whether at the community level, among civil servants or in the corporate sector,” he told reporters after the ‘Aku Kasih Malaysia: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati’ special programme here today.
He said the implementation of Gelombang Aku Kasih Malaysia was now being expanded nationwide to ensure that messages on nationhood and patriotism reached all segments of society.
Roslan also urged AKM personnel to master various languages and local dialects to ensure that information sessions could be conducted effectively.
“Language can help our clients or audience better understand what we are trying to convey. So, it is not just Malay, Chinese and Tamil, but also the various local languages and dialects,” he said.
He added that the academy would continue to strengthen and intensify the implementation of nationhood programmes in conjunction with the 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations.
“The move was in line with efforts to foster patriotism, strengthen national identity and enhance the people’s appreciation of the country’s history, the Federal Constitution and Rukun Negara, in keeping with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI.
“This effort is important to ensure that love for the country is not merely expressed through celebrations, but is translated into understanding, appreciation and practice in our daily lives,” he said.
