KOTA BHARU, Aug 11 (Bernama) -- Two 14-year-old boys are feared drowned while swimming in a river at Kampung Batu Lada Aur Duri, Kuala Krai, today.
A spokesperson for the Kelantan Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Centre said the department received a distress call at 6.39 pm and firefighters from the Kuala Krai Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were dispatched to the scene.
The team arrived at 6.46 pm and found that both victims were feared to have drowned while swimming in the river.
“The operation, involving seven personnel from the Kuala Krai BBP, was hampered by heavy rain when firefighters arrived at the scene.
“The two victims have been identified as Rayyan Hakimi and Luth Naim. The search and rescue operation is still ongoing,” he said.
