KUANTAN, Aug 9 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah have acknowledged and expressed appreciation for the contributions and role of the Orang Asli community in enriching the state’s cultural heritage, customs and traditions.
Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tunku Azizah also expressed hope that more opportunities would be made available to the Orang Asli community to improve their quality of life.
“Especially in education, economic development, skills and human capital development, while ensuring that their identity, customs and heritage, which are central to their cultural identity, are not overlooked,” Their Royal Highnesses said in a post on the Kesultanan Pahang’s Facebook page.
In the same post, Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tunku Azizah conveyed best wishes to the Orang Asli community, especially those in Pahang, in conjunction with the 2026 International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples.
Their Royal Highnesses also expressed hope for the continued wellbeing, prosperity and better quality of life of the Orang Asli community, while stressing the importance of preserving its heritage and culture as a shared legacy.
The Sultan and Tengku Ampuan of Pahang also urged the people to uphold unity, respect and cooperation to maintain harmony and prosperity across the state.
