NIBONG TEBAL, Aug 8 (Bernama) -- The Communications Ministry has held 41 MADANI Kita programmes, bringing together ministries and government agencies to make public services more accessible and engage directly with the people.

Communications Ministry deputy secretary-general (Telecommunications Infrastructure) Mano Verabathran said the programmes were implemented jointly by the Community Communications Department (J-KOM), the Malaysian Information Department (JaPen) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), through the National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI).

He said through direct interaction, the public could learn more about government policies and initiatives, seek clarification, ask questions and voice their views on relevant issues.

“This approach is important because the people want more than just information about government policies and initiatives. They also want to see and experience the benefits of the efforts being implemented.

“More importantly, the programme provides an avenue for direct engagement between the people and government ministries and agencies,” he said during the launch of the MADANI Kita Nibong Tebal programme, officiated by Education Minister and Nibong Tebal MP Fadhlina Sidek here today.

Mano said the programme also offered a range of activities focused on technology, education, skills development and community wellbeing.

He said the activities went beyond entertainment, especially for youths, by providing opportunities to nurture talent, build team spirit and encourage healthy and disciplined competition.

It also featured e-sports, which has attracted a large following, as well as a range of activities and services provided through NADI.

Meanwhile, he said more than 17,000 people attended the MADANI Kita Permatang Pauh programme, held alongside the Penang International Halal Expo 2026 from July 24 to 26.
