IPOH, Aug 4 (Bernama) -- A young gymnastics team from Bagan Datuk made history by winning six gold, six silver, and five bronze medals at the AG Little Gym Challenge Cup Selangor 2026, which took place in Kajang on August 1.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also the Member of Parliament for Bagan Datuk, shared the good news in a Facebook post while expressing immense pride in the athletes' achievements.
“Alhamdulillah, I am very proud to be informed that the children of Bagan Datuk have once again brought honour to our district.
“This achievement proves that the children of Bagan Datuk are not only academically excellent, but are also capable of shining in the field of sports when given the proper opportunities, guidance, and support,” he said in the post.
Ahmad Zahid also extended his congratulations and praise to all the athletes, coaches, parents, and the entire team who worked tirelessly to yield such a proud success.
Meanwhile, the Bagan Datuk Generasi Muda Gymnastics Club also shared the success on their Facebook page.
“What a remarkable achievement! Congratulations to all our talented gymnasts for your outstanding performances, determination, and never-give-up the spirit. Every medal reflects your hard work, discipline, and countless hours of training.
“This is not the finish line - it's just another milestone. We will continue to train harder and come back even stronger,” read the post.
