SEREMBAN, Aug 2 (Bernama) -- DAP will conduct a thorough review of its defeat in yesterday's 16th Negeri Sembilan state election, said its National Chairman Gobind Singh Deo.
He said the party will listen closely to the people's grievances and concerns, and work hard to regain their trust and support.
"The voters of Negeri Sembilan have delivered their verdict in the 16th state election and we accept this outcome with all humility. We thank every voter who supported Pakatan Harapan and DAP,” he said in a statement today.
"We also take note of our secretary-general Anthony Loke’s defeat in Chennah, which was a closely contested race.
Barisan Nasional (BN) secured 18 state seats, Pakatan Harapan (PH) won 11, and Perikatan Nasional (PN) took seven. DAP won nine of the 11 seats it contested.
Meanwhile, Gobind, who is also the Digital Minister, said DAP respects the mandate given by the people and congratulates those elected to form the new Negeri Sembilan state government.
"We hope they will govern responsibly and always prioritise the people's interests," he said.
