KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 1 (Bernama) -- Inspired by the remarkable versatility of actress Nabila Huda, rising star Ariana Ryry has openly named the award-winning actress as her biggest source of inspiration as she works to establish herself in Malaysia’s entertainment industry.
Ariana, whose real name is Nurul Aina Adriana Musaidi, said Nabila Huda's ability to convincingly portray a wide range of characters continues to motivate her to refine her own acting skills.
"I truly admire Nabila Huda’s talent. Every character she plays leaves a lasting impression on audiences, whether she’s delivering an emotional scene or portraying an antagonist.
"One of my biggest dreams since entering this industry has been to share the screen with her. If I ever get the opportunity, I would love to learn from her because I want to become as accomplished as she is," the 24-year-old actress told Bernama recently.
Ariana, who recently signed with talent management company Rocketfuel Entertainment, also revealed that her passion for acting began in childhood.
“To be honest, I've always wanted to be in front of the camera because acting has always been my greatest passion. But my family wanted me to focus on my studies first," said the sixth-place winner of the ‘Dewi Remaja 2025’ competition.
Asked about her dream role, the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) graduate who holds a degree in journalism, said she hopes to challenge herself physically and emotionally by taking on an action role.
"I'd love to play a character that requires fight scenes because roles like that are not only challenging but can also elevate my career. I'm even willing to undergo martial arts training to prepare for such a role," said Ariana, who first gained attention for her antagonist role as Tasya in the vertical drama (fast-paced short series) ‘Ex Girlfriend Suamiku Delulu’.
Fully aware of the fierce competition in the acting industry, Ariana has also been actively building her presence on social media through beauty and fashion-related content on Instagram and TikTok.
"The reality of today's entertainment industry is that many acting opportunities are given to those with a large social media following because they have the ability to attract bigger audiences to a drama or film," said Ariana, who now has more than 63,000 followers on TikTok.
She added that she remains open to constructive criticism, believing it is essential to improving her craft.
The young actress also expressed her gratitude for the guidance she has received from veteran actresses such as Aishah Atan, whom she described as generous in sharing her knowledge, particularly when it comes to dialogue delivery and character development.
Besides acting, Ariana has appeared in several popular Malaysian music videos, including ‘Kampung Kita’ by Wani Kayrie and ‘Cuba Jadi Aku’ by Nadeera, as well as in music videos by M-pop group XONE for the songs ‘Aidilfitri Jangan Pergi’ and ‘Eyes On Me’.
