IPOH, July 31 (Bernama) -- Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah today attended the Perak Darul Ridzuan Warriors' Day 2026 celebration at Dataran Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.
Also present were the Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, and the Raja Di Hilir of Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris Shah.
The Sultan, who arrived at 9.05 am, was received by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, Western Fleet Commander Vice-Admiral Datuk Baharudin Wan Md Nor, Perak Police Chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin and Second Malaysian Infantry Brigade Commander Brigadier-General Datuk Mohd Rosli Abu Bakar.
The Sultan inspected the guard of honour before attending a parade involving members of the security forces, military veterans and retired police officers. The ceremony also featured prayers, a poetry recital and the sounding of the Last Post and Rouse in tribute to the nation’s fallen heroes.
Sultan Nazrin then proceeded to a luncheon where he watched a pantomime titled Operasi Subuh, Kisah Jenalik Berdarah, depicting the confrontation between Malaysian security forces and the Al-Maunah militant group at Bukit Jenalik, Sauk.
Later, Sultan Nazrin officiated the opening of Masjid An-Nur Gua Permai at the Syed Putra Camp. Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain also attended the ceremony.
Saarani and Deputy Army Chief Lieutenant-General Datuk Mohamad Suria Mohamad Saad were also present.
Sultan Nazrin joined a Yasin recital, tahlil prayers, and listened to a special Warriors' Day sermon titled Menghargai Jasa Pahlawan - Mensyukuri Nikmat Keamanan (Honouring Our Heroes – Giving Thanks for the Blessing of Peace) delivered by Army Headquarters Religious Director Brig-Gen Mohd Jihadi Ahmad, before performing Friday prayers.
Completed in December 2025 at a cost of RM5.5 million, the mosque can accommodate up to 500 worshippers and will host religious, educational and community programmes.
