Five Men Held, Drugs Seized In Two Bachok Raids
KOTA BHARU, July 22 (Bernama) -- Police arrested five men and seized various types of drugs worth over RM8,000 in two separate raids in Bachok yesterday.
Bachok police chief Supt Mohamad Ismail Jamaluddin said four men were arrested in the first raid in Kampung Alor Pulai, Jelawat, after police found them in a Proton Saga FLX parked in the compound of a house in the village.
He said the suspects tried to flee but were arrested after a struggle, adding that police seized 27.89 grammes of drugs worth RM2,231 from sling bags in the car.
He added that all four suspects tested positive for drugs and had previous crime and drug-related records.
In the second raid, at a house in Kampung Rekang, Repek, police arrested a 28-year-old man and seized 596 suspected yaba pills worth RM5,960.
The suspect also tested positive for amphetamine and had previous drug-related offences.
Mohamad Ismail, who said all five suspects are being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, urged the public to channel information to the police to help curb drug crimes.
