SRG Eyes Podium At MSCxEWC

KUALA LUMPUR, July 22 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) team, Selangor Red Giants (SRG), are targeting at least a podium finish at the Mid Season Cup (MSC) x Esports World Cup (EWC), which begins today at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in France.

SRG assistant coach Poon ‘OzoraVeki’ Kok Sing said while the team has set its sights on finishing among the top three, the players remain committed to taking the tournament one match at a time without underestimating any opponent.

"We are definitely looking for a podium finish. But as we usually do, we always remind each other that we have to focus and respect every opponent in front of us, and not just look at the end goal.

“Throughout the process, we'll be focusing on our next match, match by match,” he told Bernama when met recently.

Meanwhile, OzoraVeki said despite heading into the prestigious tournament with high expectations from Malaysian fans, he said SRG have not made any significant changes to their preparations compared to previous international competitions.

“I wouldn't say that there's much difference. We still commit to the grind and do what we can during practice.

“We always focus on training, so that's just part of our schedule,” he said.

In the meantime, OzoraVeki described the overwhelming support from Malaysian fans as a source of motivation rather than pressure.

“Being supported by the fans is a blessing. We definitely want to do well for them and make them proud.

“I think that energy will support us and keep us going when it comes to fighting in the tournament. I'm thankful for the support and we appreciate it a lot," he said.

For the record, SRG boast an impressive track record at the MSC x EWC, having won the title in 2024 before finishing runners-up in the 2025 edition.
