9 RS Foil 240kg Chicken Rumps Smuggling Attempt At Limbang Border
LIMBANG, July 18 (Bernama) -- The Ninth Battalion of the Border Regiment (9 RS) foiled an attempt by a local man to smuggle about 240 kilogrammes of chicken rumps through a river route at the Limbang border early today.
The Ninth Infantry Brigade (9 Brigade) in a statement tonight said the success came during a routine patrol at about 4.30 am when troops detected a suspicious Proton Saga along the river route.
It said an inspection of the vehicle uncovered 20 boxes containing chilled chicken rumps believed to have been intended for illegal export through the river crossing.
"All the chilled food supplies were seized together with the Proton Saga," the statement said.
The seized items have been handed over to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) in Limbang for further action in accordance with the law, it added.
