PLKN Trainees Get Leave To Vote In Johor, Negeri Sembilan Polls
KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 (Bernama) -- A total of 77 trainees under the National Service Training Programme (PLKN) 3.0 Series 3/2026 have been given leave to cast their votes in the Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections.
National Service Training Department (JLKN) director general Major General Datuk Marzuki Mokhtar said the move is to ensure trainees' democratic rights are preserved without compromising the programme's national education objectives.
He said of the total, 31 trainees voting in the Johor state election today have been allowed to report to camp tomorrow.
"Meanwhile, 46 trainees voting in Negeri Sembilan on Aug 1 will be given two to three days off for travel and voting," he said in a statement today.
Overall, Marzuki said 870 trainees who have confirmed their participation are expected to fill the training capacity for this series, which runs from today until Aug 24.
That number includes 500 trainees at Camp 505 AW in Pekan, Pahang; 250 at Camp 515 AW in Kuala Lumpur; and 120 at Camp 504 AW Bukit Keteri in Perlis.
Meanwhile, JLKN also reminded prospective trainees for PLKN 3.0 Series 4/2026, particularly those born in 2008, to always follow announcements regarding the selection and registration process through the department's official channels.
