PM Anwar Reunites With Elderly Couple Who Rode Trishaw To Meet Him
BATU PAHAT, July 9 (Bernama) — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today took time to meet an elderly couple who went viral after riding a trishaw to meet him during his breakfast stop at an eatery in Senggarang last Sunday.
Anwar met Abdul Razak Pelangga, 86, and his wife, Jamilah Samsudin, 64, while attending the "Yok! Meriahkan Johor! Undi Harapan" programme in Senggarang.
The Prime Minister shared a light-hearted moment with Abdul Razak, joking about the octogenarian's ability to pedal the trishaw before thanking the couple for their support.
Also present at the event was Pakatan Harapan (PH) Communications director Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, who is also the Minister of Communications.
The programme was also attended by PH candidates Onn Abu Bakar (Senggarang), Mohd Khuzzan Abu Bakar (Semerah) and Felicia Poh Rui Ling (Penggaram).
Bernama previously reported that Abdul Razak had pedalled his trishaw for nearly one kilometre to fulfil his wife's wish of meeting the Prime Minister during his breakfast stop in Senggarang last Sunday.
The Johor state election will be held this Saturday, with early voting having taken place last Tuesday.
