Police Hunt For Suspects In Bandar Sunway Cafe Brawl
KUALA LUMPUR, July 8 (Bernama) -- Police are tracking down a group of men to assist investigations into a brawl and riot that left three men injured at a cafe in Bandar Sunway here early this morning.
Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said police received a report about the incident at 6.16 am.
“Initial investigations found that the incident was believed to have stemmed from a misunderstanding between the victims and the group of men who were at the location before the fight broke out.
“As a result, three victims sustained minor injuries and have received treatment at a hospital,” he said in a statement today.
Wan Azlan said police have conducted a thorough inspection of the scene, recorded statements from witnesses and obtained closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of the incident.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting while armed with a weapon or objects that can be used as a weapon.
He advised the public to refrain from making any speculation or spreading unverified information about the incident that could affect the investigation.
