Solid FC Crowned Batu Pahat Zone Champions, Qualify For Johor Junior Cup Elite League

KUALA LUMPUR, July 7 (Bernama) -- Grassroots football club Solid Football Club (Solid FC) from Pontian, Johor, emerged as champions of the Batu Pahat Zone in the 2026 Johor Junior Cup Under-11 (U-11) competition, securing a place in the prestigious Johor Junior Cup Elite League.

Solid FC topped the highly competitive Batu Pahat Zone, which featured 12 teams, with an impressive record of 10 wins and just one defeat.

Solid FC president Nasrullah Yahya described the achievement as a proud beginning but stressed that the club's primary focus remains the holistic development of young players rather than merely chasing titles.

"Our goal is not just to win trophies, but to produce players capable of progressing to higher levels.

"Solid FC may be a small club, but we believe outstanding players can come from anywhere when they are given the right environment, quality guidance and consistent opportunities," he said in a statement today.

Nasrullah said the tournament, organised by the Johor State Football Association in collaboration with the Johor Football League, provides an excellent platform for players to gain competitive experience while instilling discipline, teamwork and strong character.

He said the club's positive progress demonstrates Pontian's strong potential to produce new football talents and expressed hope that greater support would be given to football development in the district.

Nasrullah also thanked parents, volunteers and supporters for their unwavering commitment, which contributed to the club's success.

Founded in 2018 through the efforts of teacher Arbain Mohd and officially registered this year, Solid FC has remained committed to nurturing young talent in the district, with the majority of its players coming from Benut and nearby areas, including Parit Raja.

The club's U-11 squad is coached by head coach Khaaliqridzwan Abdullah, assisted by Hairudin Mohamad as assistant coach, with Irfan Rizki Abdul Rahman serving as captain of the 25-player squad.

The Johor Junior Cup, which runs from Feb 7 until November, is the state's largest grassroots football development competition, bringing together 140 teams and 2,397 players in the Under-9 and Under-11 categories from across Johor.
