KESUMA To Ensure Jobs Match Qualifications, Offer Better Wages - Ramanan
PASIR GUDANG, July 4 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) will ensure that every job created not only meets market demand but also offers higher wage value and matches jobseekers’ qualifications.
Its minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said the ministry’s focus has shifted from merely creating large numbers of jobs to ensuring job quality aligns with applicants’ skills.
He said KESUMA has a mature labour market ecosystem through its comprehensive MYFutureJobs platform, which is powered by artificial intelligence (AI) to improve job matching accuracy.
“It is useless if we create job opportunities that are not decent, not well-paid, and not suitable for jobseekers,” he said.
“That is why we have MYFutureJobs. More than 300,000 job applications have been recorded, with 200,000 successfully matched, while over 100,000 job vacancies are still available on the platform,” he told reporters at the Sree Maha Mariamman Temple here today.
He said MYFutureJobs uses AI to generate job matches based on applicants’ qualifications.
Yesterday, PH launched its Johor state election manifesto themed “Johor for All”, outlining 10 key offers covering healthcare, housing, entrepreneurship, education, agriculture, transport and employment.
Among the pledges is a target to create 250,000 high-paying and decent jobs in Johor through the development of modern and high-value industries.
The target will be achieved by creating 50,000 jobs annually, together with efforts to raise Johor’s median wage by at least 30 per cent.
A total of 172 candidates are contesting 56 state seats, with polling on July 11 and early voting on July 7.
