Factory Worker Survives 9-metre Fall In Ipoh
IPOH, July 3 (Bernama) -- A factory worker survived after falling 30 feet (9.144 metres) from a cement factory building in Persiaran Tasek, Tasek Industrial Estate here today.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Division assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the 23-year-old man sustained only minor injuries in the incident.
He said the department received a call on the accident at 4.50 pm and personnel from the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene six minutes later.
"Upon arrival, firefighters found that the victim had sustained minor injuries and a sprain after falling from a silo onto a roof before landing inside the factory building while carrying out repair works," he said in a statement tonight.
Sabarodzi said firefighters applied the SAVER (Systematic Approach to Victim Entrapment Rescue) concept to bring the victim down safely before he was examined by Health Ministry medical personnel and taken to hospital for further treatment, with the operation ending at 6.26 pm.
