Pakistan PM To Attend The Funeral Of Iran's Supreme Leader
HYDERABAD, July 2 (Bernama) -- Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will participate in the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's funeral in Tehran on July 4.
"The prime minister will convey condolences on behalf of the people and the government of Pakistan to the Iranian leadership and the bereaved families," Foreign Ministry spokesman Tahir Andrabi announced at a media briefing in Islamabad on Thursday.
After that, he will travel to Turkiye at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to hold discussions on bilateral and regional issues.
Shehbaz will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and other cabinet ministers on the July 3-5 foreign trip.
Meanwhile, India will be represented by Bihar state governor Syed Ata Hasnain and deputy foreign minister Pabitra Margherita at Khamenei's funeral ceremony.
