Johor Polls: BN On Track For Positive Showing, Says Akmal
JASIN, June 30 (Bernama) -- UMNO Youth is confident that Barisan Nasional (BN) is on track for a positive showing in the Johor state election on July 11, citing the encouraging response to its campaign efforts so far.
UMNO Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh said support for the coalition, particularly among young voters, has been highly encouraging.
“Based on the support we have seen from young people, the momentum is very positive and, Insya-Allah, we have a good chance,” he told reporters in Selandar here today.
Dr Muhamad Akmal said BN is fielding 13 young candidates in the election, six of whom are from UMNO Youth, reflecting the coalition's commitment to giving young people the opportunity to serve as elected representatives and future leaders.
He added that the UMNO Youth machinery is now fully prepared for the election and other state polls to be held this year.
Early voting is on July 7.
