Johor PH To Continue Preparations To Face PRN
JOHOR BAHRU, June 1 (Bernama) -- Johor Pakatan Harapan (PH) will continue preparations to face the State Election (PRN) following the dissolution of the Johor State Legislative Assembly (DUN) today, in addition to bringing further discussions to the central PH Presidential Council level to map out the next step.
In a joint statement by the Johor PH leadership, comprising Johor Amanah Chairman and Johor PH Chairman Aminolhuda Hassan, Johor PKR Chairman Datuk Seri Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, and Johor DAP Chairman Teo Nie Ching, the coalition informed that preparations to face the election had already been mobilised earlier.
According to the statement, Johor PH also stated that they had anticipated the dissolution of the DUN would happen in the near future.
"For us, there is no such thing as an easy election. Pakatan Harapan stands ready to mobilise the best possible efforts to win this PRN," the statement read.
Earlier, Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, in a special press conference at his official residence in Saujana here this afternoon, announced that the Johor DUN is dissolved effective today to make way for the implementation of the PRN.
He said the dissolution was carried out after receiving the consent of the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, during an audience that took place today.
According to Onn Hafiz, the dissolution was made in accordance with Clause 23 of the Second Part of the Johor State Constitution 1895.
