Johor Allocates Over RM30 Mln For Bakul Kasih Aid, Benefiting 550,000 Families
JOHOR BAHRU, 31 Mei (Bernama) -- The Johor state government has allocated more than RM30 million for the implementation of the Bantuan Bakul Kasih Johor programme, which is expected to benefit over 550,000 needy families statewide.
Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the initiative was implemented to help ease the daily expenses of the people affected by cost-of-living pressures amid global economic uncertainty.
He said the food baskets comprise basic daily necessities such as rice, wheat flour, sugar and other essential items.
“The Bakul Kasih Johor initiative is channelled as one of the small efforts to help ease the burden, particularly for those in need,” he said in a Facebook post today, following a working visit to the Tangkak and Muar districts where he personally delivered assistance to recipients.
Onn Hafiz expressed hope that the contribution could help ease the daily financial burden of the families involved.
He said the state government would continue efforts to safeguard the welfare of the people, ensuring that every Bangsa Johor family enjoys a more prosperous life.
