Education Minister Heads List Of Melaka Award Recipients

MELAKA, Aug 24 (Bernama) -- Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek led the list of 1,328 recipients of awards in conjunction with the 77th Birthday of the Yang Dipertua Negeri Melaka Tun Mohd Ali Rustam today.

Fadhlina received the Darjah Gemilang Seri Melaka (D.G.S.M) which carries the title of Datuk Seri.

Also receiving the same title were Chief Justice of Malaya Datuk Seri Hashim Hamzah, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail and Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman.

The other awardees were Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) chief Gen Tan Sri Muhamad Norazlan Aris, executive president and chief executive officer of Petronas Downstream Datuk Seri Sazali Hamzah and president of the Malaysian National Silat Federation (Pesaka) Datuk Seri Megat Zulkarnain Omardin.

Meanwhile, 56 individuals received the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (D.C.S.M) award which carries the title of Datuk Wira, including Benut assemblyman Datuk Mohd Sumali Reduan, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk M. Kumar, and Melaka police chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar.

A total of 14 individuals were awarded the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (D.M.S.M) which carries the title of Datuk, including Sabah State Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Datuk Al Hambra Juhar, High Court Judge Datuk Suria Kumar A/L Durairaj Johson Paul and commander of the 3rd Infantry Division Maj Gen Datuk Sani S Omar.

A total of 189 recipients were awarded the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (D.P.S.M) which carries the title of Datuk which was also awarded to director-general of Broadcasting Datuk Ashwad Ismail, Editor of News and Current Affairs Group, Media Prima Berhad TV Network Datuk Azhari Muhiddin and Datuk Siti Roziana Zain or Ziana Zain, who was born in Merlimau, Jasin.

In other categories, a total of five individuals were commissioned as Justices of the Peace while 106 recipients were awarded the Darjah Seri Melaka (D.S.M).

Also awarded were the Bintang Cemerlang Melaka (B.C.M) to 151 recipients, Bintang Khidmat Terpuji (B.K.T) (244 recipients), Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (P.J.K) (386 recipients), Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (P.B.M) (161 recipients) and Pingat Khidmat Lama (P.K.L) (five recipients).

Meanwhile, Melaka State Secretary Datuk Salhah Salleh in a statement announced that the overall award reflects Melaka's appreciation for individuals who have provided service, contributions and devotion in various fields and played a role in the development and well-being of the state.

He said the implementation of the Melaka 2026 Awards Ceremony was coordinated with all relevant agencies and complied with the established procedures and procedures to ensure the smooth running, safety and comfort of the recipients and guests throughout the ceremony.
