KDN Targets JIM Collection To Exceed RM5 Bln In 2026 -- Saifuddin Nasution

CYBERJAYA, July 21 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) is targeting revenue collection by the Immigration Department (JIM) to exceed RM5 billion this year, said Home Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

He said JIM had managed to collect revenue exceeding RM5.2 billion in 2025, which is among the highest among government agencies and has now recorded a collection of RM2.6 billion for the period from January to date.

“JIM has consistently collected revenue of RM 5 billion for three consecutive years.

“We have also seen the potential for increased revenue collection, for example, we are now collecting up to RM2.6 billion and I think by the end of the year we will be able to once again surpass (last year’s) collection figures,” he said.

He said this when speaking at the 2026 Immigration Day celebration themed ‘Melakar Wajah Baharu Imigresen’ here today, which was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Also present were the Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and Director-General of Public Services Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz and Immigration director-general Datuk Zakaria Shaaban.

Saifuddin Nasution said JIM had also proven its firmness in defending the rule of law through enforcement actions that were carried out consistently, professionally and with integrity.

Throughout 2025 and up to June 2026, more than 130,000 arrests have been made involving various offences under immigration laws, while more than 92,000 foreigners have been successfully deported to their countries of origin.

“I am confident and believe that the Immigration Department will continue to implement enforcement without compromise and of course the government and KSN will continue to provide support in acquiring strategic enforcement assets to assist this department,” he said.

Meanwhile, Saifuddin Nasution proposed that the government implement improvements to the service scheme of Immigration, structuring strategic positions and expanding career paths.

“I am of the view that this effort deserves due attention.

“I also believe that the Deputy Prime Minister, the Chief Secretary to the Government and the Director General of the Public Service will give due consideration to ensure that this institution remains relevant, competitive and ready to face future challenges,” he said.
