HKHM2026: Interactive Community Programmes Nationwide To Stoke Patriotic Spirit - JAPEN

IPOH, July 18 (Bernama) -- Various interactive community programmes have been lined up to enliven this year's National Month and Malaysia Day celebrations, although they are held on a moderate scale.

Department of Information (JAPEN) Communication Services and Community Development Division director Muhammad Najmi Mustapha said these programmes will be carried out by the department's mobile units at selected checkpoints nationwide, including places of worship and sports venues.

"We are adopting a moderate concept this year, but it will still be packed with interesting activities," he said.

He said this after inspecting the rehearsal for the 2026 National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang Campaign (MPBKKJG 2026) launch in conjunction with the 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM2026) celebrations at Dewan Sri Perdana, Sultan Azlan Shah Ministry of Health Training Institute (ILKKM SAS), Tanjung Rambutan, near here today.

Muhammad Najmi said through the programme under the 1 House 1 Jalur Gemilang (1R1JG) campaign, JAPEN will also engage with the community at places of worship and sports venues following the expansion of two new clusters this year.

"There we will distribute Jalur Gemilang kits. Similarly, at selected places of worship we visit, we will provide some contributions, and there will be activities for them to join us in flying the Jalur Gemilang," he said.

Previously, JAPEN Media and Corporate Communication Division director Mohd Haizul Hod had said that this year's 1R1JG Campaign was expanded to include places of worship and sports premises as two new clusters to ensure that the flying of the Jalur Gemilang is carried out more comprehensively.

Prior to this, the campaign was implemented across seven clusters, namely industry, education, security, health, government agencies, higher education, and community.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Najmi said the launch ceremony rehearsal went smoothly, with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim scheduled to officiate the event tomorrow.

Among the highlights of the event is the morning Merdeka Patriot Run. During the launch ceremony, the hoisting of the Jalur Gemilang by security forces will resume after a two-year hiatus. The HKHM2026 theme song will also be launched.

The launch ceremony at 10 am will be broadcast live on the social media platforms of Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), Merdeka360 Facebook Live, the Ministry of Communications, and JAPEN.

Some 3,000 people are expected to attend the event, including members of the MADANI Community from across the country.
