N9 Polls: MB Aminuddin Faces Three-cornered Fight For Linggi Seat

PORT DICKSON, July 18 (Bernama) -- Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar of Pakatan Harapan (PH) Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun will face a three-cornered contest for the Linggi seat in the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election.

He will take on incumbent Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli of Barisan Nasional (BN) and Bersatu candidate Datuk Zamri Md Said.

Returning officer Nurhazelin Makli announced the list of candidates at the nomination centre at the Port Dickson District Administration Complex Auditorium after nominations closed at 10 am today.

In Sri Tanjung, PH incumbent Dr G. Rajassekaran will defend his seat against BN's A. Achutan and Bersatu newcomer Leevineshwaraan Murugan.

In Lukut, PH incumbent Choo Ken Hwa will face Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Sathes Kumar Nilameham and independent Teo Seng Lee.

In Bagan Pinang, PAS incumbent Abd Fatah Zakaria will contest against Nasir Raman of PH and Sheikh Junaidy Jamaludin of Bersatu.

Meanwhile, the Chuah seat will see a straight fight between PH incumbent Yew Boon Lye and BN's Pau Jeou Ching.

The Election Commission has set Aug 1 as polling day for the state polls, with early voting on July 28.

According to the commission, 889,490 voters are eligible to cast their ballots, comprising 867,151 ordinary voters, 16,884 military personnel and their spouses, and 5,455 police personnel and their spouses.
