MFL Confirms 11 Clubs To Participate In 2026/2027 Super League, PDRM To Wait FIB Decision

KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia Football League (MFL) has announced that 11 clubs have confirmed their participation in the 2026/2027 season of the Super League scheduled to start on August 21, while one more slot will be decided on July 16.

The local football league operator said that Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT), Kuching City FC, Selangor FC, Kuala Lumpur City FC, Terengganu FC, Star City FC, Negeri Sembilan FC, Penang FC, Sabah FC, DPMM FC and Melaka FC have confirmed their participation, while PDRM FC’s participation will be determined after the First Instance Body (FIB) makes its decision regarding conditions of club licensing compliance.

Should PDRM FC fail to meet the set conditions, Kelantan Red Warrior FC is seen as the candidate with most potential of filling the last slot.

The new season will kick off with the Charity Shield match between JDT and Kuching City at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on Aug 21, which will also count as the first Super League match of the season. 

Meanwhile, the FA Cup competition is scheduled to start from Sept 1 or 2 with the final set for Jan 16, 2027, while the Malaysia Cup will begin on Jan 22 to 24, 2027, with the final on May 30, 2027.

Finally, the MFL Challenge Cup will Feb 10 to 11, 2027 akan membuka saingan pada 10 hingga 11 Feb 2027 dengan final dua pusingan berlangsung pada 11 dan 18 April 2027.
