INSKEN Entrepreneurship Coaching Programmes Receive International Recognition
KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 (Bernama) -- Institut Keusahawaan Negara Berhad (INSKEN) has achieved another milestone after securing two prestigious awards in Singapore for its entrepreneurship coaching programmes at the GovMedia Conference & Awards 2026.
INSKEN, an agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (KUSKOP), said in a statement today that the recognition further strengthened its standing as one of the leading organisations in entrepreneurship development and social innovation globally.
The awards were the Malaysia Digital Initiative of the Year – Training for the INSKEN Mini Coaching (Marketing) Programme 2025 and Malaysia Training Programme of the Year – Training for the INSKEN Bumiputera Business Coaching (IBBC) Programme 2025.
Minister Steven Sim said the international recognition clearly demonstrated that the government’s investment in building entrepreneurs’ capacity had delivered tangible results.
He congratulated all INSKEN personnel and strategic partners who contributed to the achievement, saying the recognition also elevated Malaysia’s profile as a country committed to developing an innovative, inclusive and sustainable entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Sim also hoped the achievement would inspire continued efforts to strengthen the entrepreneur development agenda in line with the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP).
According to the statement, the international recognition added to INSKEN’s impressive list of achievements in 2026, including being named Public Social Innovator of the Year 2026 by the Schwab Foundation at the World Economic Forum (WEF), as well as receiving recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records for organising Malaysia’s largest entrepreneurship seminar.
Others include the Entrepreneurship Development & Economic Empowerment Award (Builders) 2026, DPIM Entrepreneurship Impact Award 2026 and the Social Impact Award at the Tatler Asia Front & Female Awards 2026.
Meanwhile, INSKEN Corporate Services director Dr Maizura Mohamad said the international recognition reflected the dedication of INSKEN’s personnel and strategic partners in driving entrepreneurship development as a catalyst for inclusive economic empowerment.
She said the recognition would continue to motivate INSKEN to expand strategic collaborations at domestic and international levels, while strengthening development programmes that address the evolving needs of entrepreneurs through innovation, digitalisation and ecosystem collaboration.
Maizura said that since its establishment 20 years ago, INSKEN had evolved from an entrepreneurship training institution into a leading organisation in developing the country’s entrepreneurship ecosystem through various strategic interventions covering capacity building, ecosystem collaboration, market access, policy advocacy, inclusive innovation and digitalisation.
She said the recognition reflected the effectiveness of INSKEN’s programmes over the past two decades, which had made a significant impact in strengthening the economy, empowering businesses and developing the entrepreneur community.
“INSKEN’s achievements include coaching and guiding more than 159,859 entrepreneurs, implementing over 4,051 entrepreneurship development programmes, generating RM22.4 million in business sales in 2025 and creating 710 job opportunities in the same year,” she said.
She said that in conjunction with its 20th anniversary, INSKEN remained committed to creating greater impact by empowering entrepreneurs, expanding market access, strengthening strategic partnerships and ensuring no entrepreneur was left behind in the development process.
Maizura added that INSKEN would continue to spearhead efforts to strengthen entrepreneurship development through various strategic interventions aimed at enhancing businesses, institutions and communities, while contributing towards a more sustainable, resilient and inclusive Malaysian economy.
